Nice but Missing Some Things
This is a very good ambient sound app with a clear and intuitive interface that’s also interesting to look at. The clock feature is a useful addition and adding sounds via download or self-creation is simple and straightforward.
It’s missing some important features that would make it a 5-star app. First of all, there is no search capability. If you’ve added a lot of files to the app, you’d best remember what they’re called and when you added them. With search missing, sorting would be the best way to find your sounds. Unfortunately, there’s no way to sort either. Making things worse is that the pre-loaded sounds don’t seem to be in any logical order at all. They’re not alphabetical and don’t seem grouped by type. They’re just there.
Switching to another tab stops the sound that’s playing. I think that must be a bug and not intentional. Missing search and sort holds back an otherwise nice system. One star off (I start at 4).
With search and sort, it’d be a solid 4-star app. A 5-star would share data with the iOS apps (via iCloud ideally) and have the ability to play via AirPlay. I’d consider that above and beyond the proverbial call. Right now, those annoying interface oversights need to be remedied.
